My Story
Dr. Dennis Sommers served the Minot, North Dakota area as an orthodontist for nearly 40 years after completing dental and orthodontic education at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry. He is a past president of the ND Dental Association and ND Society of Orthodontists, co-authored an article in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and contributed to the rewriting of the Principles of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct as well as the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics - documents viewed worldwide - for the American Association of Orthodontists.

Besides producing a bimonthly newspaper column focused on the humor hidden within retirement, Sommers remains active in orthodontic leadership and performing as a violinist with the Minot Symphony Orchestra. Sommers writes on a wide variety of topics. He and his wife, Rita, savor time with their four wonderful children and four grandchildren.
